Holism and Fieldwork

Anthropologists in all sub- fields take a holistic approach, combining the study human biology, history, culture and language in order to analyze human groups. 

Anthropologists have traditionally focused on `Primitive societies' (but not anymore).

Anthropologists learn about other societies through fieldwork and "Participant Observation"

But it wasn't always that way...
