Alienation

In Marxist language, alienation is the process of taking away, and is a source of resentment leading to conflict.

For Marxists, modes of production are characterized by, among other things, what they alienate from the workers.

History is, among other things, the process of increasing alienation.

Under capitalism, workers are alienated from everything but their labor.
